Of the candy associated with Easter – jelly beans, chocolate bunnies, peanut butter cup eggs – Peeps have a special place in my heart. The bright, cheerful sugar-coated exterior! The soft, chewy marshmallow inside! The adorable chick and bunny shapes! The best part about Peeps is that people don’t just eat them – they play with them. I love the weeks leading up to Easter when newspapers like the Washington Post and the Chicago Tribune hold Peeps diorama contests…people get reaallly into it.
Peeps, like Twinkies, are rumored to be indestructible but frankly, who cares? They taste great – as long as you don’t overdo it. I definitely recall that sickly, OD’ed-on-sugar feeling after gorging on my Easter basket as a kid. To celebrate the huge contribution Peeps have made to marshmallow culinary history – and their important place as annual Easter candy mascot – let’s take a peep at our best marshmallow-y desserts! Some you’ll want to make for Easter, some you’ll want to make as soon as you finish reading this!

S’mores on the Grill: We made these with chocolate graham crackers – HIGHLY recommended. I love these with peanut butter cups!
CMC Ice Cream Sandwiches: Pssst……”CMC” stands for chocolate marshmallow chocolate, which also stands for “YUM.”
S’more Pudding: The best of s’mores but in pudding form! This is great to bring to a potluck – I promise you it will be a big hit.
Disappearing Marshmallow Brownies: The marshmallows may disappear during baking, but these brownies will definitely disappear from the plate.
Frozen S’mores: So you can tell I like s’mores! But Frozen S’mores are a new level of heaven. Once you try them frozen, you may never go back to regular s’mores.
White Russian Pie: If you’re a fan of White Russians, you will LOVE this frozen pie. The Dude definitely approves.
Marshmallow Flower Cupcakes: These spring cupcakes are fun to make, more fun to decorate, and even more fun to eat!
