Helayne Rosenblum signature Resolution RevoltBaked Pub Style Shrimp RE 2 Resolution RevoltHappy New Year everyone! Okay…so how many of you reading this have resolved to eat healthy recipes or lighter recipes in 2012? C’mon…you can admit it!

It’s almost a tradition when the question comes up about New Year’s resolutions. Articles abound about suggestions for how to accomplish those lofty goals and now a lot of our Sunday newspaper inserts are filled with advertisements for exercise equipment. Yes, January brings with it a lot of pressure. We’re coming off of the holiday party food gorging we’ve just done, and the first thing that happens is that we are forcing ourselves to sacrifice our favorite foods.

So, I propose a resolution revolt. Don’t force yourself, because you’re bound to fail. Anytime we do anything we really don’t want to do, we’re setting ourselves up for things not to go so well. Especially because within weeks, some of us may be chowing down on high calorie snacks for the “big game” that will tackle any effort we’re making to keep the resolutions.

And if that weren’t enough, Cupid will be aiming an arrow straight for the heart of our diet plans right after that, what with all the sweets coming our way for Valentine’s Day. But, there is hope. Here at Mr. Food, our Test Kitchen has lots of super lighter recipes! This week alone, every TV recipe of the day is high in flavor, yet uses lighter ingredients – so don’t miss any of them!

A great one for any of you who love the tastes of fried shrimp, but fried shrimp doesn’t “love you” so much, is our awesome Baked Pub-Style Shrimp. And don’t miss this freebie! We have an entire free downloadable eCookbook Mr. Food: 20 Tasty & Healthy Recipes for the New Year to help you all year long. Just click here to download!

Of course, I go with the motto that Mr. Food always has ingrained in me, “moderation is key.” So are you ready to join the “resolution revolt” with me? If you are, indulge once in a while and don’t give all your favorites up and you just might make positive progress! And an inside scoop from me to all of you…the Mr. Food Test Kitchen has lots of  delicious recipes in store for 2012 that’ll help you keep on track and enjoy tasty eating, so visit us often and let us know how you’re enjoying them, ‘cause we love hearing from you!
